Daffodils

Spring is here finally! There are many flowers in the gardens. In matamata we have a scenic drive (very small one) called Centennial Drive which goes part of the way through town. All the retired men meet once a month to do the gardens and keep it looking very nice. Now all the daffodils are out and it was a lovely last day of winter.

A walk in the country

Mum and I went for a walk in the country today. We walked and ran a bit and had a few detours. We did her Ironman training route and it is about 17km for 1 lap around. Mum used to do it twice but i think once was enough for us. I'm shattered after that but it was a nice day and good to get out in the country air.

Greta

I got to meet Greta today. She was born on August 25th at about 2.30am. Since she was only due on Sept 3rd I was really lucky she came early and I got to meet her. She is my cousin Tessa's 3rd child and such a sweet baby. She didnt cry at all and was very easy going. She is just gorgeous.

Walk to Nana's house

I went for a walk to Nana's house today. It ended up being quite a nice day so I took a few photos.

Sumo

This is my cat Sumo. My friends gave him to me when i came back from Japan in 1998 so he is getting pretty old. He has always stayed in my parents house so has had a very easy life.

Today I'm leaving our little place. We have thoroughly enjoyed living here, it's quiet and not too far to go to work. I will miss it, but am looking forward to the next adventure!

Saw a gorgeous rainbow on my way home. Took a panoramic photo but didn't quite line it up right!

Gold Rush

So proud of all of our Olympians!

***We just got awarded a 6th gold medal! In the shot put, Valerie Adams who got silver has just been awarded the gold since the actual winner failed a drug test!

Visa

Got my visa for South Africa today! i'm busy finalizing plans to finish work and have booked flight for September 3rd! So excited!
