Clouds

Fresh Veges

Today I had my first baby cabbage from my vege garden. I was worried it would be full of slugs but it was just beautiful inside. i made a fresh, delicious, crunchy stir fry. it was just wonderful.

Race 3

Here is me finishing my 3rd 10km run. Had a disappointing run as I got the stitch and it wouldn't go away. Delwyn and Barry were there to cheer me on but I had my worst time today unfortunately. Better luck next race!

Mana shochu

NZ shochu (shochu is similar to Japanese sake) made out of Kumara (sweet potato).
I had never heard of this or seen it before but our friend Dewald bought it as a gift for Okart's birthday. They got straight into it but I didn't try it as I was driving (and doing a 10km run tomorrow so thought alcohol wouldn't sit very well!)

Vege garden

My first veges are nearly ready! Baby cabbage and celery. The broccoli still has a way to go though.

Work

I took this photo today at work to show Jordan. I can see the sky tower from my window too.

Beautiful sky

Lovely pink sky on the way home tonight. Means its gonna be fine - shame its only about 5 degrees! Well the Internet is telling me it's 13 but it sure feels like 5!!

My niece Jordan (9) has taken up BMX riding. A Legend in the making - You heard it here first!!

MasterChef

MasterChef night tonight! I don't usually watch this kind of reality show but Mark and I got hooked from the first episode. They are down to the last 5 and every episode is more exciting than the last! Who will win?!?!

Sam and Lucy's farewell

I went to my cousins farewell braai tonight. He and his girlfriend are off overseas for a year. The braai was at Lucy's parents house and Sam had been busy pruning trees which we made into a bonfire. I had a great time catching up with my aunt and uncle too.

My fave building

This is my favourite building in auckland. The city centre has some wonderful architecture although not as old as buildings in europe I still they are amazing! I wish I could live in Auckland 100 years ago when all the buildings were still new and in their glory. The guardian building was the City Vault although I'm not sure if there is actually still a vault there.

Ballerina Adele

This is my cousin's gorgeous girl Adele, modelling her new ballerina cardi that my Aunt Vivienne (her grandmother - or 'Mammy' as she's calls her) made for her. She is 3years old and just started ballet. She loves clothes and fashion so luckily her mommy and grandmother both sew! I also grew up wearing their creations, especially at my High School and University Prom dances I wore dresses that my Aunt made and my cousin wore to her own Proms.

Dinner

Had a lovely chicken pasta dinner. Yes that is basil on my plate - he is making a come back and growing nicely again!

Fruit smoothie

I made a yummy banana berry smoothie - very refreshing!

Birds of paradise

Beautiful flowers are coming out in the garden at the moment.

Caterpillar

I still have lots of caterpillars in my garden and now thy are slowly becoming cocoons. Soon I will have lots of lovely butterflies!

Race 2

Today is race day! As usual I have not really trained, but I did do more than last time so we will see how I go!

And the pic of the sign reminds me of my mum when she did her ironman so that photo is for her.
